Re: Did we miss a trick with Mitrovic?
I'm not giving anyone a pass, and you can talk about whatever you want but as antonio found out monday night, it's a hopeless/thankless task playing up front in this team. I think you can get away with one up top if you have two attacking midfielders/wingers out wide, but this cunt's obsession with five at the back will take us down, especially when every one of of our fullbacks have limited ability. with a more positive manager, yes mitrovic would possibly be a better option and you wouldn't get all the french clique bollocks shown by haller, but the problem remains that the team lacks a leader in the pitch and the squad is full of lazy midfield players who don't fit any system

Re: Did we miss a trick with Mitrovic?
Miike- So we might as well stop talking about football altogether then and give these joke players all a pass? No doubt you thought it was Sullivan's fault that Antonio wrote off his car dressed as a snowman?

Re: Did we miss a trick with Mitrovic?
We needed to buy a couple of decent strikers in the summer. Haller hasn’t worked out but arguably Ajeti was a worse signing and we are now relying Antonio as back up striker.

Re: Did we miss a trick with Mitrovic?
The bigger difference is Mitrovich had one season in the premier league and psychically he could handle himself and Haller was not ready for it. In our position with our squad it would have needed a player who would have hit the ground running not take 6 months to acclimatize

The one we should have got is Rondon.

van basten would look shit playing in this team, the problems lie elsewhere

Re: Did we miss a trick with Mitrovic?
I imagine we'd be cursing signing Mitrovic and missing out on Haller who'd have signed for a club that had a plan to get the best out of a big money striker.

Re: Did we miss a trick with Mitrovic?
Sydders - You're right about he seemed committed to Fulham, but this continued defense of him by some is fucking ridiculous now, never seen it before and is a symptom of modern day football.

Re: Did we miss a trick with Mitrovic?
I think he is probably a better finisher than Haller so he would probably have done better.

It’s not a criticism of any system it’s just that we don’t create many chances and our midfield lacks players who can find forwards, cross a ball or make runs forward that create space.
Sergio Aguero would probably struggle up front for us too.

Re: Did we miss a trick with Mitrovic?
Pretty sure he commited to Fulham early in the Summer (contract extension etc), so although we were linked it wasnt going to happen.

Not sure Mitrovic would have been any better up front either, Haller maybe a bit hapless but if he had better support and service it could be a differnet story, he just hasnt for the most part.

Re: Did we miss a trick with Mitrovic?
Sven - Nah, it's really getting boring wigh posters defending players because of systems, let's just keep it simple, would have he been better for us than Haller? I'd say most definitely.

Re: Did we miss a trick with Mitrovic?
Reckon Mitrovic would struggle just as much as Haller in our team.
Both would be isolated and aren’t mobile enough.
Mitrovic seems a bit more engaged and passionate though.
Fulham are starting to wobble so don’t imagine Mitrovic will be there next season when we may well be playing them in the Championship

Re: Did we miss a trick with Mitrovic?
I was an advocate of Mitrovic as more of a direct centre forward plying up front on his own
